Sofia's Students' city in the look of investors and home buyers
Studentski Grad (Students City) borough in Sofia's south saw a dynamic and interesting development in the last 10 years. At the moment, the neighbourhood is a flowery mixture of ugly, communist-era students' hostels, newly built apartment blocks, and fashionable bars.Studentski grad stay untouched by the construction boom until 2000, when smart investors started building stylish cafes and shops, Kapital Weekly announced. Heavy construction in the borough took place three years ago. The number of free plots in Sofia's other southern residential districts has decreased significantly, so investors turned their interest towards the university city.
Now projects for single apartment blocks have turned into small residential complexes included several buildings. There is a great possibility that, in the near future, the number of year-round residents of the borough would outstrip the number of the students. At the moment, there are 50 000 students living in Studentski Grad from all around the country and another 30 000 with constant residences.
Newly built apartment buildings are crop up in the former "green areas" between the hostels and in the district's periphery. New apartments are offered for off-plan sale mostly. Although there are finished apartments, owners do not offer them for sale or rent, so causing limited supply and price hikes.
I first found this company on the internet and found the site really easy to understand and gave me alot of information! I arranged to go over for a viewing trip in November 2010 with a friend as my husband couldnt make it. We were pick up from sofia airport. over the next 5days we went from one end of Bulgaria to the other covering over 1600km (Bulgaria is Beautiful)Each night we stayed in a different hotel, which was checked every time to see if it was to our liking!They even took us to a chemist to get us something for our coughs!!! Dont think an English Estate agent would of done that!! We were looked after the WHOLE time and they answered all of my questions, some times over and over again!! They have helped with paperwork and accounts which have to be set up! NOTHING was tooo much trouble for these lovley,lovely people and im buying with confidence! I would gladly recomend this hardworking, trustworthy, friendly company! We not only met Estate Agents over there, we also made our first Bulgarian friends :)Thank you kiki and Hristo. Maxine Wood.
