The large ethnographic heritage of the Elhovo region and the whole Strandja-Sakar area is located, stored and made popular by the Specialized Ethnographic Museum in the well-known town of Elhovo. It was founded in 1958.
The museum has one of the most fascinating ethnographic exhibitions all over Bulgaria (open in 1971). The museum deposits over 20100 exhibits, 13700 of that are shown in the main museum hall.
