General Toshevo is a small town in northeastern Bulgaria. It is located 24 km from the town of Dobrich, in the Dobrich region and is close to the border with Romania. The town is the administrative center of the municipality of General Toshevo. The municipality includes 41 settlements, the largest of which are Kardam, Spasovo, Krasen, Rositsa, Vasilevo, Preselentsi. Until 1942 the name of the settlement was Kasamkoy or Kasam. It is named after General Stefan Toshev. It is a city from 1960. The population is about 8000 people.

The climate is temperate continental and is characterized by heavy snowfall in winter and many sunny days in summer. The relief is flat.
As a typical agricultural area, the region has well-developed agriculture and to a lesser extent industry. In recent years, the food industry has developed, related to the processing of agricultural products. The municipality of General Toshevo occupies a favorable position on the Russia-Bulgaria gas pipeline. As a recently married couple looking to give up the grind of 8-6 mon-fri rat-race lifestyle... but without enough money to actually do so at home in the UK. We have always been adventurous, but after watching the series ‘Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild’, the idea of just quitting our jobs and moving away to start something completely new, suddenly seemed very doable.
