It is located in Dobrich District between Balchik and the border with Romania, near the town of Kavarna. Shabla is located about 25 km from the border with Romania and 80 km from Varna and the airport. On the territory of Shabla is the oldest lighthouse on the Balkan Peninsula, and according to some sources in Europe. About 3 km from Shabla is a protected area Shabla Lake, declared as such in 1979. Under this name are united two natural coastal lakes in Shabla and Ezerets, connected by an artificial canal. They themselves are separated from the sea by a sandy strip, 30-50 meters wide. The place is among the most important wetlands in Bulgaria along with Lake Durankulak. Here are plants that can rarely be seen elsewhere. They are especially important for the bird fauna. During the autumn-winter period, globally endangered species can be observed. The beach here is unique in appearance - there are no hotels and countless restaurants, the sea is clean and pleasant, the bottom is soft and sandy.In Shabla there is a school, an Orthodox church, a community center, various types of shops, restaurants, hotels, guest houses, a municipal children's complex, a kindergarten, doctors 'and dentists' offices and all modern amenities and communications - internet, satellite TV, digital telephone exchange, coverage of all mobile operators.
