General information from the village
The climate is temperate-continental, influenced by the proximity of the Black Sea. It is characterized by mild winters with scarce snowfall and cool summers. The relief is flat and hilly, and a centuries-old oak forest stretches to the village, among which springs with clean, drinking water rumble. The population is 380 people. The old name of the village was Celebi kyoi.

It is located in the lower reaches of the Kamchia River in the Kamchiyski Pyasatsi region and was declared a protected area in 1951 in order to preserve the largest century-old riparian forest in Bulgaria. In some places the trees reach a height of 50 m. There are more than 40 species of trees, most of them over 150 years old. Small plant species are also diverse. Water lilies are one of the most beautiful. The reserve is home to hundreds of species of birds, mammals and fish - some of which are listed in the Red Book of Rare and Endangered Species. This ecosystem has a unique character, which comes from the specific ecological conditions in which it develops.
