250 performers from all over the world take part in the International Folklore Festival in Plovdiv

250 performers from all over the world take part in the International Folklore Festival in Plovdiv Dance groups from three continents will participate in the 21st edition of the International Folklore Festival in Plovdiv from 3 to 7 August. They come from Korea, Spain, Turkey, Serbia and Poland. A group from Argentina comes for the first time in Plovdiv. The Bulgarian host will be the Professional Folklore Ensemble of the city of Sliven.

During the remarkable cultural event, a parade will take place at 5.30 pm. The groups will go on the main street and reach the scene at the Stefan Stambolov Square where three short concerts will be performed. The programme will continue with the official evening performances of the participants on the scene of the Antique Theatre at 8 pm.

Concerts will take place in other areas of Plovdiv region except for the concerts in the city itself. The Turkish and Spanish ensembles will perform on 4 and 6 August in the town of Asenovgrad and the dancers from Serbia and Poland will be on a tour in the town of Hisar.

The team of the Municipality f Plovdiv occupied with the festival, has organized a parallel cultural programme which includes a sightseeing tour in Plovdiv – the Bachkovski Monastery and the Asenova Fortress.
