The village is in northeastern Bulgaria, part of Valchi Dol Municipality, Varna District. It is located 15 km northeast of Valchi Dol, 25 km south of Dobrich, 26 km north of Suvorovo and 38 km northwest of Varna. The village of Oborishte can be reached by car in two ways - through the turnoff after the village of Kiselovo in the direction of Dobrich and through the road Varna-Dobrich through the villages of Krumovo and Botevo. The road was renovated in 2007.

The relief is plateau-hilly and mountainous. There are many centuries-old forests around the village, thanks to which the air in the area is clean and healthy. The climate is temperate-continental, influenced by the proximity of the Balkan Mountains. Summers are warm but not hot, autumns are sunny, winters are cold, with heavy snowfalls, and springs are cool. The population is about 330 inhabitants. Altitude - 327 m. The old name of the village was Semet.

The village has a community center with a rich library, grocery stores, an Orthodox church, town hall, a small park. All properties in the village are electrified and supplied with water. The roads are in good condition. One kilometer near the village of Oborishte passes the railway line Varna-Dobrich, there is built a railway station Oborishte. This is how the village is connected with the cities of Varna and Dobrich and the surrounding villages and towns.
There is a dam near the village. There are many forests in the area where the local hunting party collects hunting trophies. The hunters from the group in the village of Oborishte have built a hunting lodge. They bought a brick house with a large yard, populated it with alfalfa to feed the game in the winter. In the Lamborghi Forest, they made mud to lure wild boars.
