During the Roman era the fortress grew under the name of Acros Castellum (fortified cape) - water supply, baths, fortress walls, public buildings were built. Many architectural remains of fortress walls, medieval churches, Roman baths, aqueducts, tombs, public buildings have been preserved.

The Yaylata Reserve
Yayla is a national archeological reserve. It is a seaside terrace, separated from the Dobrujan plateau by 50-60 meters of rock massifs. Yayla is a unique place that combines archaeological remains with natural resources. Here is a cave settlement of over 100 caves from the V millennium BC. From antiquity are preserved sanctuary, sacrificial stones, wineries, four necropolises of rock tombs dug into the rock massif, preserved and partially restored fortress from V-VI century after Christ and other cultural monuments. In the Middle Ages the caves were used as a monastery complex. On the walls of some of them there are proto-Bulgarian signs - runes, crosses and stone icons.

Rusalka Holiday Village
Rusalka Holiday Village is located 20 km east of the town of Kavarna in the unique nature reserve "Bird's Bay" and north of Cape Kaliakra.
