The village is known as the oldest and longest village in Dobrich district and is the fastest growing settlement in the region. Its population is about 1200 inhabitants. Many foreign citizens have chosen it as their home.

The village has a kindergarten, primary school, community center, pharmacy, old mosque, guest houses, several shops and a cafe-restaurant. There is a small chapel in the village, which is named "St. Archangel Michael ”. A church board of trustees has already been established and funds are being raised to build a real church. It will be called "St. Georgi ”and will rise next to the school, where the old church was destroyed in the 60s of the last century.
