Gorun is a village in North-Eastern Bulgaria, part of Shabla Municipality, Dobrich District. It is located on the international road Varna - Durankulak. It is located 4 km south of Shabla, 13 km from Kavarna, 8 km from Ezerets, 30 km from Balchik, 37 km from Albena.

The village is close to the sea beaches (more than 10 beaches are 5-12 km from it), but it is not on the coast itself. Thus, Gorun is a place far more peaceful than the coastal villages, where the tension of the intense tourist flow is felt.
And to the north, at a distance of only 18 km, on the border with Romania, there is the Romanian seaside village of Vama Veke, still unknown to Bulgarian tourists. This place like a magnet attracts rockers, music groups and young people from all over the world.
The region has a unique climate for Bulgaria, which makes the summer here fresh and cool.
The village is small, with a population of about 120 inhabitants. It has an active community center with a library, grocery stores, a guest house, and a pub. In the last few years, several English families have chosen the village of Gorun as their second home. The village is small, quiet and peaceful, surrounded by greenery.

The strategic location of Gorun and the ecologically clean natural environment provide an opportunity to combine rural with other types of tourism - marine, hunting, sports, ecological and cultural.
