As a recently married couple looking to give up the grind of 8-6 mon-fri rat-race lifestyle... but without enough money to actually do so at home in the UK. We have always been adventurous, but after watching the series ‘Ben Fogle: New Lives in the Wild’, the idea of just quitting our jobs and moving away to start something completely new, suddenly seemed very doable. We turned to the internet for answers and based on the budget we had and the lifestyle/climate we were looking for, Bulgaria seemed to be the place for us. So after hours of trawling through websites, and countless emails back and forth with various estate agents throughout Bulgaria, it quickly became apparent that there is a lot of choices out there and ‘viewing trip’ was in order to see it for ourselves. We booked some tickets and flew over to see how it could be possible to buy a whole house for less than your standard deposit back home. In order to view some of these properties, in the beginning, we were in talks with a number of different agents and even a lawyer!, but the only person who actually seemed to care about helping us find our dream home that was right for us (and not about taking our money), was a lady called Kiki from BulgarianHouse.com.
